Probably you already have done this, but before applying force, take the
chassis out of the case - just unscrew the big antenna and take out the
little screws on the back and slide the chassis out the back - and take a
very careful look at the bandswitch to see if there are bits of wire or
other stuff, bent tabs, solder bridges or the like from shipping or from the
previous owner that may be jamming the switch. For example, a small chunk
of a styrofoam peanut will jam it real tight. You do not want to have to
rebuild or replace any contacts or wafers.
