VTVM 1/4" plugs..

I had never considered the insulation rating of a phone plug either, until 
the recent posts. So, inquiring mind, out came the Hi-Pot tester. I just 
picked out a Radio Shack 1/4" mono phone plug (because it was on top of the 
drawer) and gave it a test. The tester puts out 1kv and measures leakage to 
2000 Meg ohm. My test indicated the phone plug was same as an open circuit. 
No breakdown to 1kv and no leakage at least none less than 2000 Meg ohm.
The 1/4" phone plug and the familiar mono screw on mic connector were the 
common choice for probe attachment back in the radio tv repair day.
My observations, FWIW. Hope it helps.
