There are very minor functional differences in the range, probably to cater 
 for later transceiver models and added convenience. For example the 
HP23/HP23A  have a 6.3v tap on the filament supply and an adjustable negative bias 
facility  whereas the HP23B only has 12.6v AC and fixed bias.  The HP23 
appears  to have a link to select 250/300v DC output whereas the HP23A and 
HP23B have  this function on a three position switch which includes mains on/off.
 
All of these models appear to have a remote mains on/off facility on pins 9 
 and 10 of the 11 pin connector.
 
As I recall, the HW32 and similar single band models required 250v DC  
whereas the SB101/102 required 300v DC.
