by my figuring: 

26.5V / 335 ohm = 0.079104477611940298507462686567164 Amps 

E/R=I 

so the R needs to drop 83.5 V at 0.079104477611940298507462686567164 amps 

E/I=R   1055.5660377358490566037735849057 ohms 

and it will need to disapate 6.6052238805970149253731343283582 Watts 

P=I*E 

so i would go with something around 1060 ohms at 10W

Question, thinking about installin a 335 ohm- 26.5VDC in a 922. The supply voltage is about 110 +or-dc .What size is the dropping resistor?? Been 50 years since I figured that. Thanks Guys.
