WHERE do you buy new ones? What brand? How much
for each?
As far as I know, there have been no really GOOD new
572Bs made in the past 20 years or more.
ALL Cetrons are at least that old by now.
None of my Cetrons were anywhere near new, even the
best outputing less than 200 watts when tested.
Taylors are made in China. Even those supposedly tested
by RF Parts have QC issues.
Shuguangs have VERY poor QC, fully 75% failing within a
short time after purchase.
One of a set of 4 Shuguangs I purchased not too long ago
failed immediately with some sort of grid problem. It
"sizzles" when the power is brought up and draws several
hundred mA of grid current.
Svetlana's are only good for SOME audio amps, and
haven't been made in several years. You CAN use
Svetlana's in an SB-200 as long as you neutralize the
circuit....which isn't trivial. Otherwise they run away.
I am not sure where Penta's are made, but their QC is also
abysmal.
So, I repeat the questions: where, how much, and what
brand?
