Heathkit VHF-1 Seneca hardware

I acquired a Seneca last week and there are 4 nuts on the front panel.  These are standard hex nuts.  I've looked at pictures of Senecas on the web and I think these should be acorn nuts but I'm not 100% certain.   Also, is there a washer of some type behind each nut?
