That stuff is as nasty as an ex-mother-in-law. I'd be suprised if you
could even purchase it w/o some kind of permit....

What I have used for years, with good results, is plain, old
"Ambroid" cement. The golden, smelly stuff from the model
airplane shop. I glued the base and anode connector back onto a
866 about 15 years ago, and it's still there...

I seem to remember coming across a site recently that offers tube
base cement for sale, but I can not remember where. I think the
original formula was mostly shellac, with some chalk and rock dust
mixed in...
