Now draw the center tapped coil across this capacitor and connect the
center tap to ground.

The circuit board used in the AM filter is the same as the one used in
the SSB filter;  so is the center tapped coil.  Therefore you can take
apart a SSB filter using a propane torch--because these are more common
than the AM filters and cheaper-- and use these parts to build your new  AM
filter.  The metal h ousing and base plate are also the same and can be
used on your new filter.
