units.  Does anyone know whether it is the HV winding that is opening or
something on the low-voltage side?  I am assuming that there is nothing one can
do to increase its chance of long life other than gentle use and careful
operation.

I also wanted to ask "Why in the world did Heath ever use the RCA audio jack as
an RF device" but I won't go there.  That would reveal my lack of sensitivity to
Heath's design talents.  Instead, since my 104 was converted (by Heath) for the
SO-239, I'll just employ my radio shack RCAm --> SO239 adaptor and pretend that
all is well :-).
