Some glues (e.g. cyanoacrylate MIGHT pull the plastic, and cause more
problems.  Many plastics can be repaired with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) with
some of the base material dissolved in it to stop it running (it's like
alcohol normally).

The trick, of course, is to correctly identify the base material.
Professionals scrape it, 'ping' it with something hard, burn a little of the
edge and can usually make a good guess.

They were probably molded too fast into too cold a die to save a few
seconds.  Add some stress, and they'll always crack.

*** DANGER *** All these substances are not good for living things - use in
a very well ventilated area - no open flames.

(In the bad old days, we used chloroform for the same purpose, but no-one
likes to sell that to you!)
