[Heath] HD-15 as a digital interface

Hello,

I read Ken's add of items for sale and he listed an HD-15 for and mentioned
that many people have "converted" these for use as a digital interface.  I
did a Google search and did not find and details on the conversion.  Any one
use this as a digital interface?  Any detail would be great.  I have one of
these on the shelf, and it would be a nice use for it.
