[Heath] Heathkit HW-100/101 S-meter trouble

Dick, sorry for your troubles. It's hard to remember that there is
HV in the transceiver instead of 13.6 VDC in present day units.

I don't remember the S-Meters circuit in the HW-100 but is there
by chance any small signal diodes such as the 1N191 or 1N4148
in the AGC circuit. Seems that if such diode or diodes were there
they would have been damaged by your man made lightning strike.
Just a good place to start.
