Hi George
 
I would be unhappy at doing this modification because the 2.305MHz IF is  
very close to top band and you would risk radiating a spurious signal unless  
some additional filtering was put in place.
 
Would it be possible to have a copy of the article please?
 
I have experience in adding other HF bands to the SB-Line of rigs as I have 
 added 160m to an SB101 and an SB401 and I have rebuilt an SB310 to cover 
all of  the HF bands including WARC but excluding 5MHz and they all work well.
