After reading Glen's comments I remember that about the 303. I had my model #'s mixed up. Go with the 301..

Keep 303, but get a set of extender cards.
Likely as good or better performance.
No dangerous HV, no big filter caps to fail and cause trouble, xistor failures less likely than tube failures and replacements more common,
less stress on components, so less drift and fewer failures, less heat, so likely more stable.

You have two receivers. They are both working to specifications. One is a SB-301, the other a SB-303.
One *has* to go. Which do you keep and why?
