[Heath] Cleaning plastic

If my memory is right, phone companies used to use methylene chloride to refurbish the plastic in phones. It is a strong solvent, and ends up making the plastic look like new. Of course there is a small detail---this is VERY toxic and a cancer causing compound. So I am NOT advocating it! I just thought you all might find this interesting.

If you need to "polish" plastic that's been scratched, most auto parts stores have a 3M kit for polishing plastic headlight covers that have discolored...this is a multi-step, multi-abrasive kit that designed for polishing plastics, and it leaves a nice, clear finish...it's about $23 at my otherwise high priced local, rural auto parts store...it requires that you have an electric drill to rotate the abrasives....
