Two heavy duty HF Linear Amplifiers For Sale:

Both of these HF amps use a pair of 3-500 tubes to produce
close to the full legal limit. These are very heavy amplifiers,
so pick up near Ocala, FL would be preferred. Or possibly we
could meet someplace. Shipping is possible, but will be expensive.

Heath SB-221 HF Linear Amplifier:

The SB-221 uses a pair of Eimac 3-500 tubes to deliver close to
legal limit output on the HF bands. It is a proven design that
has been copied by many others.

This SB-221 is a late one, with plug in transformer and "redish"
meters. It was assembled in 1982, and lightly used about 10 years.
It works fine and looks very close to new, with no known defects.
In addition, it has recently had most of the Harbach improvements
added including a new set of filter capacitors with improved
equalizing/bleeder resistors, new metering/rectifier board, "Soft
Key" board to reduce keying voltages and currents, glitch resistor,
protective diodes, new HV metering resistors, and more.
The Eimac tubes produce in the vicinity of 1200 Watts output,
depending on band.

This is a really an exceptional amp. Everything works fine, and it
looks like new with no scratches or defects. Please call or e-mail
for more details.

This amp includes an inch thick notebook with paper work, including
the Harbach improvements, for $900.

Pickup near Ocala, FL, would be preferred.

Kenwood TL-922 A, HF Linear Amplifier:

The Kenwood TL-922A HF linear amp is designed to provide close
to maximum legal power, utilizing two 3-500Z high performance
transmitting tubes. The amp features two meters for maximum
operating convenience. Power is 2000W PEP SSB, 1000W DC CW/
RTTY input. Drive power is 80 or more watts.

For all practical purposes, the TL-922 A is similar to the SB-220/
221, but with improvements added, since it was designed after
the Heath amps. It also includes 160 meters. It has larger
transformers, and heavier duty tank circuit.

This one has had the filter capacitors replaced, the Harbach
"Soft Key" added, along with a glitch resistor, and various
protective diodes. All bulbs have been replaced.

The Eimac 3-500's produce from 1300 watts to over 1500 watts
into a dummy load, depending on band.

Electrically, this amp is a 10, and cosmetically it is a 9.9.
It is an exceptionally nice amp, both electrically and cosmetically.

Power requirement is 120V AC at 28A or 240V AC at 14A.

Paper work is included for $1250. Again, pickup near Ocala, FL,
is best.

NOTE: Power output was measured with an LP-100 A wattmeter,
calibrated traceable to NBS.

I also have many other accessories available such as many
different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs,
antennas, etc. Just too many things to list here.
Please e-mail your requests.

Pickup near Ocala FL is preferred.
Prices do not include shipping.

Thanks.
