[Heath] IT-17 Tube Tester question

Good evening Terry.  I have an IT-17 and also a IT-3117; don't believe I have ever run into an issue using these units with any tube types I've tested.  Don't have a 6SN7 or anything which uses one.  Can't be a software glich.  Maybe something specific to the tube....meaning a bad tube.  Can't believe Heath engineers would single out one tube as a issue.  Course maybe the tube charts are wrong.  Just guesses.  Yes, there are still some who have tubes and do use tube testers occasionally.

Subject: [Heath] IT-17 Tube Tester question

Does anyone recall having a problem testing 6SN7 tubes? I've tested a number of them, and the meter always pegs violently using the listed settings. I've noticed that changing the 'Type' setting to 1 (the chart says to use 2), gives an in-scale reading. But I have a later loose-leaf listing that was compiled after the roll-chart was produced, listing many new tubes that aren't on the roll, and it still shows type 2 for this tube.

Any comments? Other types found that don't test properly using the listed settings? Or maybe no one uses tube gear anymore...
