Heathkit M-1 "Handitester" VOM In addition to Handitester, it also says "Heathkit Precision" on it. It is a rather traditional VOM. It measures AC and DC voltage, DC current and resistance. It has a combination function/range switch for simple operation. Specs: Sensitivity: 1000 ohms-per-volt. Meter ranges: AC & DC VOLTMETER: Full scale 10, 30, 300, 1000 and 5000 volts, DC MILLIAMETER: 0-10 ma, 0-100 ma. OHMMETER: 0-3,000 ohms (30 ohms center scale), 0-300,000 ohms (3,000 ohms center scale). Meter movement: 400 microampere, 3". Resistors: 1% precision type. AC rectifier: Dual half wave. Accuracy: Meter movement, 2% of full scale. Controls: Function/range switch, ohms adjust. Case: Streamlined molded phenolic. Ohmmeter battery: One standard size "C" flashlight cell. Shipping Weight: 3 lbs. It is 1950's vintage. This one works fine and looks fine also. It even includes a nice set of probes with coiled cords. Paper work is included for $30. . Turner 350 C, Hi Impedance Hand Microphone: If you use vintage boatanchor rigs, you probably know what a Turner 350 C microphone is. It is a high impedance hand microphone that can be used on most any equipment that requires a Hi Z mic. It has a dark green case. Heath sold the same mic with their label on it. It has a PTT switch. This one has a nice pattern on the scope. The coiled cord is in good shape. Only $30. . . Heath SB-220 / SB-221 parts: SB-221 Front Panel Standard green color. In very nice condition. $50 Heath SB-221 logo This is the logo with the Heath name and SB-221, that goes in the upper left of the front panel. It looks perfect. No scratches or defects. $15 . Resistors for high voltage metering: Do you have a linear amplifier that has an error in the high voltage reading? Maybe you do not even know it has an error! Heath used three 4.7 meg resistors in the SB-220/221 and also in the SB-200/201 amplifiers. Almost all of these resistors are out of tolerance today, partially because of their age, but also because their voltage rating was exceeded. I was able to obtain a quantity of new resistors that are 4.7 Meg, 1% tolerance, 2 watt, and are rated to handle the high voltage. This compares to the original resistors furnished by Heath that were 4.7 Meg, 5%, 1 watt and about 400 volts. Note that these can be used in any amp that uses the 4.7 Meg resistors -- not just Heath amps. Buy a set of three for $3. . . Knobs for SB series: Dark green knobs with aluminum skirt, 1 1/8 inch in diameter. These are the medium size knobs used in all of the SB series of transceivers, receivers, transmitters and accessories. Several available at $4 each. . . Heath Phone Patches: . Heath HD-15 Phone Patch: This is the unit with the VU meter on the left and 3 knobs that match the SB series to the middle and right. Low or high Z output to the transmitter. It can also be used as an interface to the computer for PSK31, etc. This one is in extremely good condition. No scratches or imperfections. Paper work included for $25. . Heath HD-19 Phone Patch This is the older style phone patch that was originally designed for the DX-60 and rigs of that era. It has a large meter in the middle, with satin knobs on the bottom. With paper work for $20. . . Heath SB-630 Station Console parts available. Most internal parts, with the exception of the clock. The outer case is gone. . Parts from a Heath HD-15 phone patch available, including cover which fits other Heath products. . . ORIGINAL Heath manuals: These are original manuals only, for Heath equipment. They are in very nice condition. Schematic is in the book. GD-600 Photoelectric Light Switch, $4 HD-1234 Coaxial Switch, $3 HD-1481 Remote Coax Switch, $7 HD-4040 Terminal Node Controller, $8 HDA-4040-2 TNC HF Header Kit, $2 HM-2102 VHF Wattmeter, $6 HN-31 Cantenna RF Dummy Load, $5 HW-2021 2 meter HT, No check marks, $9 HW-2036 2 meter transceiver, partial manual, $8 IN-17 Decade Resistance Box, $4 SB-1000 HF Linear Amplifier, $25 These are original Heath manuals only. . . I also have many other accessories available such as many different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF and VHF/UHF antennas, connectors, miscellaneous accessories, etc. Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests. Prices do not include shipping from Florida. Thanks. 73, Ken, W8EK Ken Simpson E-mail to W8EK at FLHam.net or W8EK at arrl.net Voice Phone (352) 732-8400 . I have a very nice DX 100 B that has been recapped and is working "somewhat". I have it on a dummy load and can easily? get the 5 ma. of drive and the hear the VFO or Crystal in an adjacent Hammarlund Sp 600. The plate meter reads 800 vdc. I have it connected to a dummy load. When being driven with crystal excitation the two 6146 tubes are more responsive. At one point on crystal ? I got the final? amplifier section to load and dip at 200ma, not the current that the manual indicates the tubes can be loaded to 250 ma.. Rocking the amplifier tuning cap causes a change in plate current from resonance but not a runaway type of change. The transmitter produces needed grid drive and current with the VFO but the amplifier does not load up as it does when switched to the crystal. Using crystal excitation on 3.885 with output through a Bird 43 to a 50 ohm dummy load the DX100 B the transmitter is putting out 50 watts in CW mode with approximately 180 ma of plate current, 800 vdc on plates and 5ma of grid current. Using internal VFO excitation the transmitter does not load up to more than 100 ma, and is only putting about 20 watts through the Bird to the dummy load. I have substituted other 6146 pairs with almost identical performance. It looks to have been use with an SB 10 sideband adapter, Pin 3 (grids) of the 6146 tubes measure? -70 vdc bias and the schematic shows -75 vdc which should not be the problem. I? plan to use this DX 100B in my AM station as soon a I get to produce more? power than "somewhat". I would like your thoughts, but please don't ask me if it is plugged in. Could be weak and not giving enough drive. Then check the VFO alignment. That must be "set" correctly, or your output will suffer. Your description of the symptoms below appear to be those associated with the mis-setting of the clamp tube. Or the tube could be bad. In any case, my advice is for you to investigate the clamp tube and its settings before looking at anything else.
