Thank you for the feedback. Yes I have substituted know good tubes. The 
tuning issue was related to the a couple crystals that were in the wrong 
sockets,since corrected.

There are some differences between the SB-300 and SB-301 front end 
coils. However the number of turns on both are the same. The difference 
in the SB-300 and SB-301 coils are the pin out is different and the 301 
coils will not fit in the space allocated in the SB-300. In the SB-301 
the spacing between coils is greater.  I did separate the two coils on 
the form, they are good, no opens or shorts and not leakage between the 
two.
