Microphone Bases:

I have two microphone bases available.
These are both missing the microphone
"head" with the actual mic element.

The first is an EV 719. This was used on
some Heathkits, among others. All of the
brown base is present, including the red PTT
switch. The coiled cord has a 4 pin connector
on it. The only thing missing is the mic head,
and the two wires are there ready to connect.

The second is a Shure 444 equivalent. It actually
says "Johnson" on the label. The mic element and
grill is missing, but the 2 wires are ready to
connect. It includes the amplifier with gain
control. The PTT switch is there, but the
plastic pieces to activate it are missing. $12
It is worth that for just the amplifier!

12AX7 Dual Triode Vacuum Tubes

12AX7 tubes are getting to be fairly scarce.
These are dual triodes, often used in audio
applications. I have found three.

The first is a very premium 12AX7.
It is a Telefunken with flat plates.
It tests 150/150% on a Hickcock 600 tube tester.
Tubes and More sells these for almost $300,
which is ridiculous.
Buy this one for only $75.

The second is an RCA with ribbed plates.
It also tests 150/150%.
Tubes and More sells these for only $170.
Buy this one for only $50.

The last is a KenRad with ribbed plates.
It tests at 125/125%.
Buy it for only $40.

Buy all three for $155.

Heath HD-15 Phone Patches:

This is the unit with the VU meter on
the left and 3 knobs that match the
SB series to the middle and right. Low
or high Z output to the transmitter.
It can also be used as an interface to
the computer for PSK31, etc.

This one is in extremely good condition.
No scratches or imperfections.

Paper work included for $25.

HD-15 phone patch

As above, but no top cover, and no meter (actually
the meter is there, but it is no good).  Internal
parts are present.  These parts are useful to build
an interface for digital modes. $15

Resistors for high voltage metering:

Do you have a linear amplifier that has an
error in the high voltage reading? Maybe you do
not even know it has an error!

Heath used three 4.7 meg resistors in the SB-220/221
and also in the SB-200/201 amplifiers. Almost all
of these resistors are out of tolerance today, partially
because of their age, but also because their voltage
rating was exceeded.

I was able to obtain a quantity of new resistors that
are 4.7 Meg, 1% tolerance, 2 watt, and are rated to
handle the high voltage. This compares to the original
resistors furnished by Heath that were 4.7 Meg, 5%,
1 watt and about 400 volts.

Note that these can be used in any amp that uses the
4.7 Meg resistors -- not just Heath amps.

Resistors for Electrolytic Filter Capacitors:

In all of the Heath HF amplifiers, they use
a low resistance value, high power resistor
for equalizing resistors across each of the
filter caps.  This is problematic in that they
dissipate a lot of excessive heat, which causes
the caps to get hotter than necessary,
and die a premature death.

The solution to this is to use a higher
value resistor.  It also should have a tighter
tolerance.  I have a quantity of 120K ohm,
3 watt, 1% resistors which are ideal for
the purpose.

These are available for only $0.75 each.
Six are needed for the SB-200/201 and
eight are needed for the SB-220/221.
