[Heath] SB tuning mechanism

I'd appreciate input on this:

When SB tuning friction gets a bit more difficult, what is the most 
likely culprit?

This is an SB301, and the rig is sold, built well, and the tuning 
hardware is in great shape, But from

age, it is now a bit tight. I'm thinking something needs a micro drop of 
oil, but I really don't want to have

to open the LMO.   And, if the rig is on a long time, and heats 
up.....yes, it gets easier to tune.

  I think this is a very typical issue.

Anyone?
