I would like to meet a ham from the 60's and 70's who didn't own one. HW101 comes to mind. I think it was for many hams their first multimode transceiver. Also probably most popular by volume if I remember correctly. the HW16 has always had a special place in my heart as it was my first rig (yes, I still have it). A specialized piece of equipment (Novice Xcvr) at the right price (much less than the nearedst built competitor. Also, a well designed unit with reasonable specs.
