Has anyone ever run across the problem where an HW-5400
can't hold the frequency on the 80, 40, and 30 meter bands? I get the PLL
display which (I had hoped) meant that an alignment was in order.
Unfortunately, following the alignment process in the manual didn't solve the
problem.

I find that if I turn the band switch ever so slowly and
can hold it at a tiny point between the "notches", it will find the frequency on
each of the three bands, and rotating the frequency knob causes it to run the
frequencies properly. That almost sounds like a switch problem to me
except that it only happens with the three bands. Someone recommended
cleaning all the connectors on the synthesizer board, which I did, but had no
further success.

Does anyone have any advise for me on this problem or any
pointers to information or help? I'd appreciate any words of
wisdom.
