I'll bet you didn't like your mothers milk either. If heathkit gear is as bad as you say it is, they (heathkit) pulled off one of the greatest scams in history. Never had so many been, so fooled, by so few, for so long. Bill old buddy, when a man tells you he will take that amp and totally rebuild it look out, if he says he will repair it, that's another story. first of all a tube like that should last darn near for ever, and second, what in the world is in a grid circuit, if you don't over drive it it should chug right along. I find it hard to believe that the folks at heath could design such lousey equipment, and sell it to so many people that knew more than the design engineers did. I'm sorry i didn't see that sb 230 you had for sale. Now that i'm retired i buy heathkit gear nearly everyday, well not everyday, but often, i rebuild it and sell or trade it.
