You can mix and match. Certain PIC, i.e., the ASP, require an E-FPC to run.
I think that the rule of thumb is PICs produced on, or after, release 6.0
require EFPC.
The E-FPC also provides visibility into queue counters, which makes testing
CoS much easier, and provides some added CoS capabilities. A table for the
