Flash cards fail pretty quickly in the mode of use that they'd see from a 
Juniper if used as the sole storage medium.  The reason is the local logs. 
If everything were run from ram save to flash or something like that it 
wouldn't be so bad, or just run from flash, no local logs, it wouldn't 
either.  Not that one can't make a juni work like that, it's just that, out 
of the box, they don't.  honestly not sure what else would have to be 
changed so that writes to flash were avoided unless needed for permanent 
storage.

flash devices just don't survive the write/rerwrite thing very well...and 
some types of flash are very slow at writing.
