I'm assuming King Oberon would probably assign things like diplomatic missions as learning experiences for his grandkids. I'm having a hard time thinking of an official post that it would make sense for her to have. (Not that that means there isn't one. Just that I'm not thinking of it.) It seems to she's sort of ideally suited for military-ish missions which require some diplomatic finesse, the sort of mission where you need to be ready to talk and ready to fight. On a big scale, something like getting a revolution going; on a small scale, perhaps meeting with smugglers and negotiating a good price. I suppose (thinking outloud), if you could send both a skilled diplomat and a kick-ass warfare type, then it wouldn't make much sense to send Renny. But if you can only send one person on the mission, then Renny is a good compromise between the two skill sets, with a bit of emphasis on the warfare side. > > Hmmm... Otherwise it can be a pastoral time in Amber where Gérard and > whatever children stayed behind had the chance to be big dogs in the yard > for several years. Seems to me that even if there are no external enemies, monstrous Shadow storm plus a weakish regent suggests there might be all sorts of low-grade trouble from the Golden Circle shadows. I dunno, I might shift notions again rapidly, but it seems like it would be pretty cool if Renny had a post list acting high admiral (in Amber) for the duration of the Patternfall war back in Amber. It might not be as glorious, combat-wise, but a sudden promotion, a fleet that needs rebuilding, and local troubles to keep things hoping sounds like one hell of a learning experience. > > I'm very interested in establishing links with the other PCs.... > > This sounds like it belongs in "Other Seeking." ;) -- Sol Foster: colomon@ralf.org From colomon@ralf.org Fri May 5 11:08:35 2006 Return-Path: X-Original-To: fazzari@deathstar.org Received: from tadpole.mr.itd.umich.edu (tadpole.mr.itd.umich
