In IOS config there was no reflector-client statement...

You can. It is legal to have import/export policy for whole group and 
specifi policy for given neighbor in this group. In such case, for this 
neighbor ONLY policy specific for then are in force (group level has no 
significance). Bot if in grop other neighbors has not specific policy, 
then grop level policies are applied.
