[j-nsp] Strange Packet Loss Problem

Sorry about being vague on my first response.

What you want to try to do is perform a layer 2 ping, i.e. bypass the
routing engine, in order to see if it's a layer 2 or layer 3 issue.

Now the rub ... I'm not in front of a Juniper box so I'm not sure of the
syntax for pinging a sonnet interface ... it's probably something like "ping
interface s0/...".

It may not support the same functionality that pinging an atm interface has.

You could possibly try pinging at the ATM interface level (layer 2) and
see if the problem is still there.

Subject: [j-nsp] Strange Packet Loss Problem

Hi All,

I am experiencing a strange issue between 2 m40 core routers connect
through an oc48 link

I experience packet loss only when sending packets between 293 and 599
bytes.

I am also speaking to cold telecom about the issue to see if it's a
problem with the sonet link, but as of now the link is not taking any
errors or alarms.

Anyone seen anything strange like this before?
