Maybe PolyglotOS would be an answer, in the old days of Bluebox and wellfleet as the big boys of the playground, there were many arguments about which was better, a ready out of the box command line interface (with limited levers and handles) or the highly customisable (ohh!!) command line available with wellfleet. the result is history the bluebox won, not on hardware capability but on the ease of operation from the IOS command line. Whether the hardware was superior is questionable, it is certainly true that you needed a good sysadmin to set up the script aliases on the wellfleet to show meaningful information, in spite of a monitor capability being available.

the message is 'in spite of the ubiquity of the English language, English is too ambiguous to be a true diplomatic language, we leave that task to French'. in Other words IOS was one of the main reasons for Bluebox's success.

Other than that bluebox makes excellent CPE, even if more expensive than their oriental admirers.

Rambling On I know.

Indeed. What really stinks is when you have a mix of M and E series, as well as IOS in your network. One forgets how much better JUNOS really is until you have to go back to IOS or JUNOSe...

I second that. We have a mix of M and E and I'm now having to touch IOS after not doing so for a number of years. I really like JUNOS.
