Dear all,
We have a VRF with the multipath statement configured (in
routing-options) :
By default the protocol-independent load balancing is applied to VPN
routes that are equal until the router identifier with regard to route
selection.
Router identifier = Router ID field or Originator ID field if present.
So I understand that equal routes are installed as a MULTIPATH entry in
the forwarding table.
In my example : default route is received 4 times. I don't understand
why there is no multipath route created and only one route is installed
?
Router A < Router B
Router R1 < Router R2
show route 0.0.0.0/0 exact
* Entry 1 Update Source : Router A
Protocol Next Hop = @IP1 Metric 70
Router ID = Router A
Originator ID = Router R1
Entry 2 Update Source : Router B
Protocol Next Hop = @IP1 Metric 70
Router ID = Router B
Originator ID = Router R1
Inactive Reason : Update source
Entry 3 Update Source : Router A
Protocol Next Hop = @IP2 Metric 70
Router ID = Router A
Originator ID = Router R2
Inactive Reason : Router ID
Entry 4 Update Source : Router B
Protocol Next Hop = @IP2 Metric 70
Router ID = Router B
Originator ID = Router R2
Inactive Reason : Router ID
