Of course the "dial" is encrypted etc on the routers.  You also get to
choose how much info is actually sent.

So I think they thought about that a bit ;)

Well, Hitachi does it for their storage systems and nobody freaks out.
Having a router dial home seems to me that it has significantly less 
impact than all your SAN dialing home ;)
