I don't know the CD contents off my head... do you have a lot of .cmp,
.cmd and .exe files in there? If so, you should also see some "stub
.rel files":

If so, copy all those files to an FTP server accessible by your ERX,
cope the proper stub .rel file (I guess it's the erx40_*.rel file for
your 1440) via FTP from the FTP server to the ERX flash file system.
This triggers some ERX automatism, and the ERX loads all the necessary
other files automatically and creates a "full-blown .rel file" on the
ERX flash filesystem.

So, bundling the "real" .rel file happens on-the-fly when copying the
stub .rel to the ERX.

example:

copy 10.0.0.1:/erx/8.2.2p0-2/erx310_8-2-2p0-2.rel erx310_8-2-2p0-2.rel

result on disk0:
