Hi!
I'm trying to un-concatenate an STM16 - STM16 interfaces into 4xSTM4
links on a dark fiber link, however I simply can't get the links to
come up in either SDH or SONET modes.
lab at xxx-cre1-re0> show interfaces so-1/1/0:0
Physical interface: so-1/1/0:0, Enabled, Physical link is Down
Interface index: 150, SNMP ifIndex: 78
Link-level type: PPP, MTU: 4474, Clocking: Internal, SONET mode,
Speed: OC12, Loopback: None, FCS: 32, Payload scrambler: Enabled
Device flags : Present Running Down
Interface flags: Hardware-Down Point-To-Point SNMP-Traps Internal: 0x4000
Link flags : Keepalives
CoS queues : 8 supported, 8 maximum usable queues
Last flapped : 2008-06-27 02:33:27 UTC (00:25:53 ago)
Input rate : 0 bps (0 pps)
Output rate : 0 bps (0 pps)
SONET alarms : RDI-L
SONET defects : RDI-L, RDI-P
lab at xxx-cre1-re0> show interfaces so-2/0/0:0
Physical interface: so-2/0/0:0, Enabled, Physical link is Down
Interface index: 154, SNMP ifIndex: 74
Link-level type: PPP, MTU: 4474, Clocking: Internal, SONET mode,
Speed: OC12, Loopback: None, FCS: 32, Payload scrambler: Enabled
Device flags : Present Running Down
Interface flags: Hardware-Down Point-To-Point SNMP-Traps Internal: 0x4000
Link flags : Keepalives
CoS queues : 8 supported, 8 maximum usable queues
Last flapped : 2008-06-27 02:33:27 UTC (00:26:16 ago)
Input rate : 0 bps (0 pps)
Output rate : 0 bps (0 pps)
SONET alarms : LOS
SONET defects : LOF, LOS, SEF, AIS-L, AIS-P
I've tried:
- Changing the framing mode to SDH on both ends
- Clocking (should be internal on both ends, but tried anyway)
- FCS to 16
If I concatenate the link, it comes up immediately (even double
checked with the path trace). What I find strange is that this is
something we do in a production environment with STM-4's, however this
has transmission gear in between.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Andrew
