P2MP LSP's are totally applicable in use with VPLS. Broadcast frames,
unknown destination unicast, and multicast (although in the case of
Ethernet, kinda like broadcast) need to get sent to all or multiple
PE's.
My understanding is that a P2MP LSP will duplicate the encap'ed frames
to use core bandwidth more efficiently.
