But that's just platform-independent code, which is true 
also of Cisco with the multitude of options you get when 
choosing code for a box.

Well, as anaemic as the SUP720 is, it has pretty decent MPLS 
tech. Yes, it's probably more comparable to the EX8200, but 
it comes in a range of sizes.

That said, the Cisco 3750ME and ME3600X give you good 
switching capability + MPLS support. I guess what you'd lose 
out on, though, is the lack of VC or stacking support.
