Hello all,
I'm attempting to find documentation on this, but have been unable to.
Is it possible to clear all the arp entries from a layer 3 logical
interface on an M/MX series router? The interface is a trunk doing vlan
tagging, and has multiple logical interfaces off the single physical
interface.
There were a couple ways to do this on Cisco depending on the device and
IOS revision. Some devices you could do a "clear arp interface" on the
vlan, while others you could set a very low "arp timeout" temporarily on
the subinterface. I attempted to look for the latter equiv on Juniper,
and found:
http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos10.0/topics/task/configuration/arp-learning-aging-options-configuring.html

But from what I can tell, this only reduces the timer for *new* arp
entries, not ones already in the arp table.

Perhaps even a way to clear all the arp entries for a CIDR, as this
would still speed the time instead of having to clear all the arp
entries individually with "clear arp hostname x.x.x.x".

Does anyone have any insight?

Many thanks,
/toph
