My statement was to advise him of the feature to help resolve his issue.
The adjustment will scale back mss sizing the TCP negotiation so that it
will fit down the smaller mtu path.

Doesn't fully fix the issue, but is a workaround.

Are you mixing up MTU and TCP MSS (Maximum Segment Size), a MSS is not
MTU but can cause MTU issues.

Also beware mixing up JUNOS protocol bgp mss adustment, which are only
for the routers bgp tcp sessions with general MSS rewrite.

The general mss rewrite affects all tcp syns crossing the box.

bgp session MSS knob has been around for a long time. Not sure which
platforms general tcp mss adjustment is available on. Think is might
be J-Series only or maybe on non J-series with extra hardware to do
MSS change (ASP/MS-DPC etc etc).
