[j-nsp] Automating Deployment

Hi all

 

We are wondering how people automate the deployment of juniper customer
edge Routers.

 

We were considering using unnumbered Ethernet interfaces on the edge
router and on the next upstream nodes so that we do not need to have
pre-knowledge of IP addressing. 

The idea was then to run ISIS over the unnumbered interfaces.  So that
all we would have to know pre-deployment is the loopback of the new
router

 

This new box would then talk back to an NSM server and pull its complete
config.

 

We have tested with 10.1 and ISIS doesn't seem to work on the unnumbered
Ethernet interfaces.

 

What do other people do?

 

Ideas?
