Hi all,
I want to configure the router as a relay agent for a non-standard bootp
protocol, and the customer belong to a VRF routing instance. Appreciate
your help with the following two questions. Thanks in advance.
Huan
*Question 1: How to forward non-standard UDP ports broadcast to a helper
(server) address?*
I am looking at the way to specify an helper address for a proprietary
Bootp protocol, which uses a custom port number.
The following link show the configuration for the standard bootp.
http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos/junos94/swconfig-policy/configuring-the-router-or-interface-to-act-as-a-dhcpbootprelayagent.html
Is there anyway to specify another non-standard port number so that the
router also forward it to the remote server as well. Cisco can do this
with the following global command:
* ip forward-protocol udp 12345*
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_1/iproute/command/reference/1rdipadr.html#wp1018318
*Question 2: How to specify a helper address for an interface that belong
to a VRF routing instance?*
**
- Should I configure the forwarding-options helpers under the VRF stanza, or
- Should I configure the server in the global forwarding-options stanza
(which has an option to specify a helper server IP following with a
routing-instance)
