really? so 1492 does not work? I'd find that very odd. Did you mean

did you try setting both the vlan interfaces mtu and unit 10's family
inet mtu at the same time? What does "show int vlan.10" and "show int
vlan" look like? And you might want to check your mail identity setup, I
find it discomforting to discuss with "pkc_mls".
