J-Flow is just another name for Netflow.

Yes, quite a few of us collect Netflow from our routers. Tools used
are for instance nfsen, flow-tools, or (commercial) Arbor Peakflow.

Whether using it is a good idea or not depends on your needs, which
you haven't specified.
