I just happened to have an ADVA 80km optic that was in a Juniper EX2200 
previously.

I only needed 1G on this route.  The cost of EDFAs and related parts, At 
least the ones we've used before on a route that was more than 160km was 
about 5x the cost of 2x 160km optics.
