[j-nsp] Forwarding Engine liveliness detection

Juniper documentation states the below on the Redundant Logical Tunnels overview

"Note: You can decrease the time it takes for failure detection and failover to occur. Configure the enhanced-ip statement at the [edit chassis network-services] hierarchy level to enable Packet Forwarding Engine liveliness detection."

I cannot locate any detail other than on this one page supporting the fact that by transitioning the MX with MPC cards into enhanced-ip mode it will improve rlt failover etc.

Can anyone provide more information on enhanced-ip and redundancy ?
