[Network-jobs] Network-jobs Digest, Vol 1, Issue 11

I can see from both sides of argument here, being a recruiter in Cisco &
Networking Tech space, maybe you should give it a go or trial, if you
are looking for new work or want to see what's out there I can give you
advice or point you in the right direction, I work in the Australian
Market only.

Also I still don't know how I can post my Job updates on a weekly basis
here, I usually just send a brief paragraph of the details and post it
on my LinkedIn Groups

Before we all go off the deep end here. I would like to try it and see
what happens. As of yet there does not seem to be a great amount of
traffic coming here. We currently stand at just over 300 members. I do
appreciate everyone's opinion here. I think this in the realm of try it

and see. Also this thread has created more traffic than any posts than
any in the last several days. I ask for just a little time. If become a
problem I will ask for another list to be created.

I'd be very interested in posting my skills and seeing what people
thought of them. How would we do it? Plaintext resume only? Or link to a

pdf that hosted online somewhere? I think attachments are a bad idea,
personally.
------------------------------------------------------------

A short form just like the job descriptions or the list will become
overwhelmed with too much info. The form should have the ability to
list URLs to where the resume and other info can be found.

I think this whole thing goes both ways. I was sort hoping this
_wouldn't_ be a place where recruiters just came and spammed job
opportunities. I get enough of that in my email already. I like the
idea of networking here and making connections with people who are
potentially hiring. I'm hopeful that in the future this list will
become a place where peopel will come to LOOK for good resources. If
you are trying to find someone good, you shoudl come here and read and
see who's available. That sort of situation would only benefit peopel
who are "in the know" and know to coem look for contacts here.

It shouldn't be hiring managers continually spamming opportunities any
more than it should be people repeatedly posting stuff about
themselves and stating that they're available. In fact, I sort of hope
that there will be some limit on number of [at least form-based?]
posts per day.

Maybe we ought to have a linkedin group?

I would be interested in putting my name out there for contract
jobs.
I do things like run cables in data centers, check on servers, and the
like.
Also other things like tower climbing.
