ITT Exelis in Dulles, VA is looking for a talented Network Engineer to join its team. The candidate will share responsibility for the design, development, deployment and operation of a new network filtering product in a unique IPv4 environment.

Senior Network Engineer, job number 1745BR
Responsibilities include:
* Working as a member of the product engineering team, develop detailed design and cost estimates for networking solutions
* Support the development team in the design and implementation of IP based voice and data telecommunications firewall solutions
* Develop detailed design and documentation supporting networking solutions
* Select and configure IP based networking equipment
* Select and utilize network management and monitoring tools in support of product development and operational system support
* Proved tier 3 diagnosis and advanced troubleshooting support when required

Must Have:

* B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

* Minimum 4 years design and industry experience.

*** Expertise with network security technologies, including firewalls, network access control, intrusion detection/prevention (IDS), deep packet inspection (DPI) and network forensics

*** TCP/IP network operations experience.

*** Some experience writing TCP and UDP network software.

* Experience with network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

* Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance.

* Familiarity with Linux, Cisco IOS, Junos, and/or Solaris a plus.

* Familiarity with iptables, tun, tap and equivalent technologies a plus.

* Familiarity with DoD networks including HAIPE technologies and STIGs a plus.
