Thinking Phone Networks (http://www.thinkingphones.com) is seeking well qualified applicants to join the Infrastructure Team of a fast growing, enterprise business-focused Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) provider in the Cambridge, MA area. Our cloud-based ThinkingSuite platform provides hosted enterprise communications, including voice, video, mobility, presence, collaboration, and messaging.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and maintain our core and edge network across our data centers in the US and Europe. In this position you will have both implementation and operational responsibilities with an emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability and security. An ideal candidate has at least (5) years of hands on experience implementing and supporting a large scale, mission critical network. Experience with high-availability service provider environments is a large plus.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following, but not limited to...

  *   Maintain Juniper-based core and public/private edge networks with a focus on high-availability and serviceability
  *   Day-to-day management of the data center network, including monitoring, performance management and operational support systems
  *   Responsible for implementing network and systems hardware in the data center, including the vendor relationships, logistics, cabling, etc.
  *   Manage the implementation of customer circuits in the data center, including coordination, configuration and communication with customers
  *   Provide Tier 2/3 support during maintenance windows
  *   Respond to availability and performance monitoring alerts
  *   Serve as an escalation point for all issues relating to data center facilities, core/edge network devices, and server hardware
  *   Manage network services in keeping with reliability objectives
  *   Document day-to-day activities in our ticketing system
  *   Document designs and procedures in our wiki in a clear and concise manner

Essential Skills and Qualifications

*         Practical experience managing a converged (voice/video/data) network with Juniper or other enterprise class devices, such as Cisco and/or Adtran
*         Experience building out network facilities in co-location type environments required
*         Experience managing the setup of highly-available and serviceable networks for both LAN and WAN scenarios
*         Experience implementing MPLS/VPLS/IPVPN connectivity in a multi-tenant environment required
*         Familiarity with the installation and management of data center grade server hardware required
*         Must be comfortable working in a Linux environment
*         Experience working with security protocols such as NAT, ACLs, Portforwards, Intrusion detection

Assets

  *   Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, Munin, Smokeping, MRTG, Splunk) is preferred
  *   Experience with VMware virtualization is ideal
  *   Linux Scripting experience
