| FireHost is a rapidly growing, security focused infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) company with career opportunities for highlymotivated individuals that know how to play to their strengths and want to be challenged. FireHost is looking for a talented and highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to join its Network Operations Team. The Senior Network Engineer role is responsible for documenting, supporting and implementing secure switching, routing, and firewall architectures and will interface with a wide array of enterprise-grade hardware and software, as well as a dynamic, service-provider network infrastructure. Ideal candidates for this position will be security focused, knowledgeable of virtualization and service-provider technologies, and possess exceptionally strong troubleshooting and support capabilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned as required.)   
   - Troubleshoot and resolve local and internet based customer connectivity and performance issues involving complex security architectures
   - Respond to and mitigate network security events such as Distributed Denial of Service attacks
   - Lead network improvement and maintenance projects
   - Setup/manage network, security, and virtualized infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN)
   - Create and maintain documentation regarding architecture, processes and procedures
   - Review, analyze, and execute network change requests
   - Perform other various duties as assigned
Required Skills   
   - Highly skilled in network oriented problem solving, critical thinking and troubleshooting
   - Highly knowledgeable in network fundamentals and IP communication technologies
   - Able to handle private and confidential information with physical and ethical care
   - Able to work independently and efficiently to meet project milestones and support SLA’s
   - Able to multi-task, prioritize, and resolve multiple inquiries at once or in order of priority
   - Able to troubleshoot complex hardware, software and network issues
   - Ability to work evenings/weekends as required and participate in an On-Call rotation
   - Ability to identify and rapidly learn new and complex technologies
Technical QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the tools and systems in our environment today, but this list will change and grow:   
   - Switching: Dell, Juniper, Force10, Arista
   - Routing: Juniper J/MX Series
   - Firewalls: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX
   - Protocols: OSPF, BGP, GRE, MPLS, IPSec
   - Virtualization: VMWare ESX, VMWare NSX, Juniper vGW
   - Security: Arbor, Imperva, Netscaler
   - Other: Transport Technologies, Traffic Engineering, Anycast, Windows, Linux
Education and/or Experience   
   - Network or Technical Certifications such as: CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE
   - High school diploma or general equivalence degree (GED) (required)
   - Minimum six years performing network engineering tasks (required)
   - Minimum three years working in service-provider environment (preferred)
   - Direct experience with Network and Security technologies such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, WAF’s, DDoS, and Protocol Analysis (preferred)
Reasoning Ability   
   - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
   - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for customer service, be knowledgeable of virtualization and networking technologies, and possess exceptionally strong troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned as required.)   
   - Resolve customer technical issues via tickets, telephone, e-mail and chat
   - Implement and support customer SSL and L2L IPSEC VPN connectivity solutions
   - Troubleshoot and resolve localized and internet based customer connectivity and performance issues involving complex security architectures
   - Respond to and mitigate network security events such Distributed Denial of Service attacks
   - Contribute to and lead customer network integration and connectivity projects
   - Create and maintain documentation regarding architecture, processes and procedures
   - Identify and recommend efficiencies for systems, processes and procedures
   - Perform other various duties as assigned
Required Skills   
   - Highly knowledgeable in network fundamentals and IP communication technologies
   - Exceptional written and verbal customer service and communication skills
   - Highly skilled in network oriented problem solving, critical thinking and troubleshooting
   - Strong working ability to interact with and manipulate Linux and Windows routing functionality
   - Able to read, interpret, modify and create complex firewall access lists
   - Able to handle private and confidential information with physical and ethical care
   - Able to work independently and efficiently to meet project milestones and support SLA’s
   - Able to promptly respond to tickets, telephone, and other electronic communications
   - Able to multi-task, prioritize, and resolve multiple inquiries at once or in order of priority
   - Able to troubleshoot complex hardware, software and network issues
   - Ability to work evenings/weekends as required and participate in an on-call rotation
   - Ability to rapidly learn new and complex technologies
Education and/or Experience   
   - Network or Technical Certifications such as: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, VCA-NV
   - High school diploma or general equivalence degree (GED) (required)
   - Minimum two years performing technical oriented tasks in a support role (required)
   - Minimum two years working with networking or communication technologies (preferred)
   - Direct experience with Network and Security technologies such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, WAF’s, DDoS, and Protocol Analysis (preferred)
   - Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree (preferred)
