</span><span class="InitialStyle"><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">for monitoring and managing the network in a 24x7 Network Operation Center (NOC) environment. This position will maintain and provide systems support for the network operations
platforms, including VoIP, QOS, wireless LANs, firewalls, monitoring software, scripts and network performance outputs, as well as operational support for Cisco, Juniper and Fujitsu network platforms. This position will also provide tier III support on escalated
issues within the NOC, and will contribute to processes and procedures for best networking practices for the University. In addition, responsibilities will extend to include the LAN and WAN networks of other entities outside of the University’s network.
This position will coach and mentor junior engineers to assist with development of troubleshooting techniques and cause determination, and will serve as a backup in the absence of the NOC Assistant Director and Manager.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

<p class="DefaultText"><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">To be eligible, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree
</span><span class="InitialStyle"><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">with preferred emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or a related field, and have seven plus
</span></span><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">years of Cisco routing and switching experience, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VoIP, QOS, load balancing, packet shaping and all wireless LAN technologies. Candidates must also have working knowledge
of firewall/internet security, including Cisco Firewall Switch Modules, PIX, VPN and ACLs; SNMP tools, including CA Spectrum and ehealth, HP Openview, Cisco Works, Orion SolarWinds and scripts administration/troubleshooting; troubleshooting hands-on circuits,
including DWDM (over dark fiber infrastructure preferred), ATM, Frame Relay, MPLS and end-to-end LEC troubleshooting.</span><span class="InitialStyle"><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif""> Working knowledge of the network topology and hardware/software
in the following areas is also required – Optical Networks (including Fujitsu 7500 and 9500), LAN’s, WAN’s, remote access, Windows, UNIX and Novell servers, Cisco and Juniper T640 routers, Cisco switches, TCP/IP protocol, addressing schemes, DHCP and DNS services.
