Good morning everyone!
This is just a quick heads-up that we are going to be updating the SSL
certificate used on the NSP-SEC IRC servers at some point either today
or later this week. This may require us to re-start the servers, so you
may have to reconnect, and will see the new certificate. Do not be
alarmed, this is in fact expected. :) It turns out that the old
self-signed certificate expired in 2005 (whoops!) and we apparently
hadn't noticed because everyone just forcibly accepted the certificate
due to its self-signedness. So, we will be generating a new, still
self-signed, certificate, this time with a longer validity period.
I'll send out another brief note when the change has actually been made,
but we wanted to make sure no one was excessively alarmed by the change
when it happened. :)
Thanks,
Tim Wilde
